Association Of Insurance Building Contractors
Welcome to the AIBC

The AIBC is a trade body of Building Contractors created by contractors for contractors, recognising the need to improve the general response to damage and restoration in the multi billion disaster restoration industry.  The association was formed to address the issues faced by contractors within the building and restoration industry, specifically in disaster recovery.

The AIBC recognises that few if any industry standards or protocols exist with regard to disaster restoration and that even chartered builders struggled to establish or ratify their actions with the client or insurer.

AIBC Quote

Initially formed to improve the capability and image of contractors who are specifically engaged in the restoration industry and employed by insurers or their representatives, the AIBC is made up of building contractors who individually have little or no voice, but together we aim to get changes introduced in support of quality building contractors and our industry.

The AIBC is designed to represent the interests of members (essentially building contractors engaged in Insurance funded construction work, be it Domestic or Commercial) and also those industry colleagues (Loss Adjusters/Claims Managers) whose day to day activities rely heavily on our members.

  • BRADI – supporting the development of standards and training for building contractors
  • Contractors Affinity Group (CAG) – a committee of industry stakeholders who advise on best practice and standards
  • CORGI Membership – providing quality tradespeople for electrical, plumbing, ventilation and gas installation
  • Roger Steare - Corporate Philosopher in Residence and Professor of Organisational Ethics at the Cass Business School in London.
