Association Of Insurance Building Contractors
Exploring our aims
The main aims of the AIBC are to increase the overall level of education and professionalism of its members, through training and development (seminars, roadshows etc), and also to provide to the Insurance industry a bench mark by which to judge those contractors that it trusts to effectively represent it at times of loss.

By careful selection and vetting of contractors deemed fit to be members of the AIBC, the association can effectively offer the Insurance industry a guarantee of quality and service, not currently available elsewhere.

The AIBC has 5 key aims :
Red AIBC Arrow Promote a standard of workmanship for contractors
Red AIBC Arrow Ensure a fair payment structure of interim and final accounts to contractors in accordance with a standard of rates being produced
Red AIBC Arrow Liase with other insurance based organisations and construction organisations to promote an agreeable format of working practice.
Red AIBC Arrow To encourage continual education
Red AIBC Arrow Act as mediator where disputes/complaints have been registered by either client or contractor

Whilst individual Insurers have established contractor networks and through this endeavoured to assure quality of service, this is haphazard to say the least and there is no industry standard.

This is the vacuum that the AIBC is designed to fill - such associations currently exist for Subsidence contractors (ASC) and also cleaning companies (BDMA), but remarkably the area of the Insurance industry which undertakes by far the greater number of instructions remains unrepresented and largely unregulated.

The overall Industry knowledge of the AIBC members will be regularly pooled and shared though monthly representative meetings, thus benefiting all associates, and the AIBC will itself issue regular industry updates and review new products and techniques that are considered beneficial to Insurers and their clients.

The AIBC will also offer training to Claims Handlers within both Insurer and Adjuster organisations to ensure that the overall level of knowledge is continually improving.

Work delivered from our networks of loss adjusters and claims consultants who will recognise AIBC’s contractors as the best in industry
